Alethea Academy's writing program prepares students to express themselves clearly and effectively through writing. The curriculum is designed around the idea that writing must be taught as an individualized course and that regular practice and critique are a vital part of the learning process.

Through weekly assignments and detailed feedback, students practice and refine their writing skills while regular grammar quizzes reinforce their knowledge of English mechanics.

  • Elementary Writing I and II introduces students to the basics of writing while solidifying their knowledge of English grammar.

  • Effective Writing I and II is a two-part high-school course in which students learn to communicate clearly through essays.

  • Analytical Writing continues to refine high-school students' essay-writing skills while preparing them to write the types of timed essays required by standardized tests.

  • Research Writing, the capstone course of the program, prepares junior and senior high-school students for the stringent requirements of college-level research writing.
